Like all credit unions, Gulf Coast Federal Credit Union is a cooperative financial organization owned solely by its members and operated solely for their benefit. Overall policies are set by the Board of Directors who are elected each year by the credit union members present at the annual meeting. A staff of paid employees manages the day-to-day operations.
Membership is open to persons who live, work, worship or attend school in Nueces, San Patricio or Jim Wells Counties.
To open an account, simply bring in $7.50 to anyone of our convenient locations. $5.00 must stay in the share account (savings) at all times to keep the account open and the $2.50 is a one time membership fee.
To open a share draft (checking) you just need $25.00 to open the account, but after that there is no account balance minimum, this is all part of our fee free share draft (checking).
Credit union membership is also available to any immediate family member regardless of where they live or work.
Gulf Coast Federal Credit Union offers the utmost in security to our members. Accounts are insured up to $250,000 through the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), a U. S. government agency.
